Aislan Foina serves as the Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer at Airspace Defense, where he directs the design and development of cutting-edge machine learning and artificial intelligence products. Driven by a mission to enhance security across both physical and virtual domains, Aislan focuses on engineering scalable infrastructures that protect enterprise organizations against emerging threats, specifically unauthorized drone activity and sophisticated ransomware attacks. He oversees product strategy and innovation, ensuring that complex security challenges are met with precise, data-driven solutions. A recognized visionary in data security and autonomous systems, Aislan has led the development of a comprehensive software stack that integrates military-grade technologies for drone detection. His technical leadership has resulted in the securing of multiple patents for innovative detection solutions. By harnessing the power of AI, he ensures that Airspace Defense’s systems provide real-time identification and mitigation of drones, delivering the high-level reliability and compliance required for critical enterprise operations. With over 20 years of hands-on experience in technology and innovation, Aislan possesses a robust track record of managing cross-functional teams and executing complex projects. Prior to Airspace Defense, he served as the Director of Software Development at Panzura, where he honed his skills in delivering enterprise-grade software. His tenure as Lab Director at University of California, Berkeley was particularly formative; he not only led research teams but also successfully influenced early FAA drone regulations, helping to shape the future of airspace control and regulatory frameworks. Aislan holds a PhD from Escola Politécnica at Universidade de São Paulo and completed a post-doctorate at University of California, Berkeley. His career originated from a deep curiosity for problem-solving and technology, a passion that was solidified when he co-founded his first startup, GTP Tecnologia. Today, he combines academic rigor with deep industry expertise to drive innovation from concept to execution, ensuring organizations can effectively safeguard their assets.
